Physical distribution refers to the management of the goods in such a way that it consists of the physical handling, its movement to another location (for example, to the warehouse from the point of pick up). The goods usually pass through many different channels of distribution. A distribution channel consists of many different intermediaries or businesses that ‘add value’ to the item before it could actually reach the customer at the end of the channel. Dual distribution differs from physical distribution in terms of its meaning. companies in this type of distribution use more than one type of distribution channel before it could reach the end customer. Typically, manufacturing and wholesaling companies make use of dual distribution techniques.
