Number One: Google Translate

It may seem pretty obvious on this one. But for the benefit of those who do not much about this app, allow us to explain. Google Translate, as its name suggests, allows you to translate words or phrases from one language to another. To put this into perspective, Indonesia’s main language is Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian). As such, tourists and expats should not be surprised if the locals that they come into contact with do not speak English. If you are familiar with the Indonesian language, you may not need this app. But for the rest of us, Google Translate can help us translate words and phrases from English to Indonesian and vice versa.
