Legal Associate

Kargo is disrupting the massive $250B logistics industry in Indonesia, leading the race to be the market leader in the industry. We will even expand further and further and we need the best Legal Team to ensure that we are doing it correctly. As part of our Legal Team, you will represent Kargo on its most important legal matters related to daily operating activities and with the company’s investing and financing activities.

Who you are and what you’ll do:

• Ownership. You will be running point on all legal matters related to Kargo’s financing and investing activities including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing loan agreements, share subscription agreements, performing detailed legal due diligence on acquisition targets, and facilitating legal due diligence of Kargo with prospective investors; you will have the support of specialised external counsel where required
• Customer obsessed. Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing Kargo’s commercial agreements with shippers, transporters, and other vendors;
• Meticulous. Maintaining Kargo’s corporate secretarial book which details among other things all agreements that Kargo is party to, business licenses, and regulatory filings; you will have the support of Kargo’s Singapore corporate secretary to ensure your success.
• First principles thinker. Identifying, monitoring and completing with internal and external stakeholders all regulatory compliance matters including maintaining Kargo’s code of conduct, maintaining and obtaining required business licenses, and submitting periodic regulatory filings.

What you need to have:

• Detailed knowledge of general corporate legal matters
• Experiences working with debt and equity transactions in Indonesia
• Capability to explain and clarify contracts in plain language to business managers
• Proactivity in anticipating the legal needs of our business, and above all, be curious and passionate about law.
• Limited knowledge of Singapore law, Indonesian tax law, and experience working at an early stage company is a plus.
